The purpose of the Foundation is to further boating safety and education along the Central Oregon Coast. The educational activities and events ar to involve the general public of the local communities.
The primary activity is to provide instructional programs, boats and related equipment to students. Classes are co-ed and are for adults and youth. Recreational, as well as scholastic and community competetive boating are suppoted. The program teaches the fundamentals of boating equiptment handling and safety. Class topics also include weather, history, theory, racing, tactics and strategy. There is strong emphasis on personal responsibility, seamanship and sportsmanship.
The goal is to increase safety on the water, boating knowledge and improve aquatic skills.
